The campaign
ABC Scotland stands for Assessment Before Crisis. The campaign supports Scottish Parliament petition PE2230, which calls for a national six-month maximum waiting time for neurodevelopmental assessments when children display significant behavioural, emotional or safety-related concerns.
The website brief
The campaign needed a clear public home that could explain its central message, connect visitors with the official petition and organise supporting information for several audiences. The website also needed to keep the campaign's human story visible without making facts, resources or contact routes difficult to find.
What KHDS delivered
- A petition-led homepage with the campaign message visible immediately.
- Direct routes to the petition, campaign information and ways to take action.
- Separate areas for stories, resources and supporting facts.
- A clear contact route for families, supporters, policymakers and other visitors.
- A bold visual system shaped around ABC Scotland's existing campaign identity.
Design and UX decisions
The opening screen gives the campaign statement priority, with the petition identified before visitors reach supporting detail. Navigation separates Petition, Campaign, Stories, Resources, Facts and Contact so people can move directly to the information they need. Strong contrast and large type help the main message remain readable and difficult to miss.
Current status
The website is live at abcscotland.com. The Scottish Parliament lists petition PE2230 as under consideration from 16 July 2026. The official petition record names Stephanie McDowell and Dale McDowell as its creators.
